Inspiration for future ideas

Neuronano will participate in Neuroscience Day Thursday May 8th in an event hosted by Lund University and the Faculty of Medicine. Neuroscience day is an annual event bringing together all different disciplines of neuroscience.

It is hosted by Lund University and the Faculty of Medicine and sponsored by the Segerfalk foundation, which Thorsten Segerfalk created in memory of his wife, Elsa. The purpose of the foundation is to help people with different neurological diseases. The foundation has two important aims. One is to finance grants for neuroscience researchers beginning their independent career at Lund University and the other is to sponsor the annual Neuroscience Day in Lund, arranged by the Faculty of Medicine.

  • Neuroscience Day is a great opportunity for scientists working within the area of neuroscience and other stakeholders to come together and discuss exciting new research findings at the forefront of neuroscience, says Jonas Thelin, Researcher at Neuronano AB.

Neurosciences Day is known for having some of the most prestigious neuroscientists coming to speak alongside young researchers at the beginning of their careers.
The highlight this year is the Segerfalk lecture, which will be given by Dr Andres Lozano, Chair of Neurosurgery at the University of Toronto and a pioneer in the use of deep brain stimulation (DBS) to treat conditions such as Parkinson’s, depression, and Alzheimer’s.

  • Mixing established researchers with young researchers in the beginning of their careers creates the perfect place for new ideas to be born. We all come together and learn more. It is a fantastic day for the community of neuroscience and in the long run, for people with different neurological conditions.
